Rival markets do not dent Spain's appeal
13.12.2007
The appeal of emerging eastern European countries has not significantly impacted on Spain, new research has revealed.
Knight Frank conducted a poll of overseas property investors in order to identify the most popular markets, based on criteria such as the potential for growth and economic performance.
With these factors in mind, the Spanish city of Madrid was ranked fourth in a list of the best investment spots in Europe, reports Property Week.
However, the country was the only one in the continent to enter the top ten twice, as Barcelona made it to fourth place.
This positive endorsement of Spain as a market for overseas property investment comes amid growing competition from rival destinations, such as those in eastern Europe.
