Spain appeals to prospective investors

Spain is still a highly rated market among those who are planning to invest in foreign property, a new poll has found.
Research by Yorkshire Bank found that most the property being purchased in other countries was located in Spanish regions such as the Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca.
The country's good climate was found to be one of the most appealing factors to potential investors, 66 per cent of whom said it was an important reason for buying abroad.
Meanwhile, 55 per cent of respondents said they were attracted by the possibility of enjoying a slower pace of life.
However, Yorkshire Bank stated that people were not solely buying foreign property with the intention of using it as their permanent residence.
Figures showed that 45 per cent of potential buyers wanted to use at a holiday home, while one in three were planning to keep it purely for investment purposes and not for personal use.
Last week, new figures from e-Travel Blackboard showed that Spain was still highly popular as a holiday destination, as it attracted about 58 million tourists last year.
