Spain attracts British retirees

Older people from the UK are increasingly choosing to set up home in Spain, an expert has revealed.
Dave Isley, head of NatWest International Personal Banking, said the European country was a highly popular destination among this demographic. He stated that property in Spain was an attractive option to retirees because it offered lifestyle benefits such as good weather and a pleasant natural environment.
Furthermore, he said expatriates would also be able to take advantage of high-quality housing and public services. This means that retirees from the UK will not have to compromise on their standard of living if they choose to leave the country.
Mr Isley commented: "Those people that are retiring are pulled by those particular indicators, whereas other people who are moving abroad to work [do so] for the opportunity."
According to a recent poll by NatWest, nine out of ten British expatriates are financially better off since moving abroad.
