Rise in visitor spending in Spain’s Costa Blanca

The first three months of 2008 proved to be a jovial period for the tourism industry of Costa Blanca. The offshore crowd loosened their purse strings more than they did a year back, official figures showed last week.

According to the data revealed in the local media, holidaymakers spent in the region of 900 million Euro during the first quarter which was a six percent increase on the amount of money spent by foreign visitors to the Costa Blanca between January and April 2007. The average foreign tourist spent roughly 835 Euro in the region.
