17.02.2009
Low-cost airline bmibaby has announced a number of new flights between UK airports and Spain.
New routes will now operate between Birmingham, Manchester and East Midlands airports to Malaga, Alicante, Murcia and Almeria on the mainland and Mahon on Menorca, which could be good news for people with property in Spain.
"We are seeing strong demand from passengers for flights to typical summer sun destinations," comments bmibaby managing director Crawford Rix.
The firm also notes that Alicante in Costa Blanca is already one of the most popular holiday destinations from its Birmingham base, with scheduled flights growing by 59.3 per cent in January.
It was recently reported that more flights are planned for routes between Cyprus and mainland Europe from April 1st.
Scheduled flights will rise from the current level of 15 a week to 60 a week and will connect Istanbul and Antalya with major European cities such as Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Cologne, among others, reports the Cyprus Observer.
