The Costa del Sol's coastline is to be improved with EUR 5.6 million investments, reports Euro Weekly News.
According to the paper, beaches between Torremolinos and Marbella will be upgraded to preserve the coast and its natural spaces. The revamp will also involve improving the beaches' cleanliness and facilities.
Funds have been raised through a partnership between the Junta de Andalucia's Ministry for Tourism and the Western Costa del Sol's Association of Municipalities, and each will contribute EUR 2.8 million to the initiative.
The agreement states that the area is the main tourist destination in Andalucia and must be promoted on a national and international level, the news provider reports.
