Spain still number one for UK buyers

Spain is still the number one destination for UK people looking to buy property abroad, according to latest figures on PropertyIndex.com.
PropertyIndex.com notes that the country was followed by France, Portugal, Turkey and Bulgaria respectively in 2009.
The average price of properties viewed in Spain was £211,343 in February this year, compared to £235,223 at the same time in 2008.
Costa Blanca was found to be the most popular destination in Spain, followed by Tenerife and the Costa del Sol.
Lee Bramzell, chief executive of PropertyIndex.com, said: "The British love affair with Spain is far from over, and our data suggests that when we emerge from the recession, it will be the first place on the list for Brits wanting to buy holiday homes and investment properties overseas."
